Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale by under18carbon Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale by under18carbon
Some of you might remember my old journal entry about this car... well, call this a tribute. =P

Not really happy with it..., completed it about a week ago but wasn't sure about submitting it. Don't even get me started on what's wrong... Oh well, enjoy!

And yes, I do realise the last few pieces have all been Italian exotics...! Something different up next, promise! :)

Comments, favourites, constructive critism, Ibanez GRG170DX/Roland Cube-15 always welcome!

Well, I'll give my opinion then.
I think you're pretty good and you know that, so I think that in this case, you should have worked more on creating volumes using shadows, not only lines.
Honestly, I think the problem is the background. You could have put a bit of color and then the car would "pop" a bit more.

I love the way you can create glass :O

Well, it's just my opinion :) you can ignore that!

PUrty..... I hope your still not using freehand though. I've come to realize that illustrator is about 1 million times better. It really blows to move from freehand to illustrator. So I recommend buying a book or just plowing through it blind folded. Plus, if you add some photoshop to your images illustrator has great photoshop compatability. Which in turn can add even more realistic but neat effects to what you do. PCE!!

mmm. another nice piece of work. really nice clean lines.. i could learn a thing or two from you about simplifying my paths, i get click-happy sometimes. the headlights arent quite up to your usual high standard on this one. but that could just be the lack of detail on the car in that area. this one needs some tread on the front tire too :P

:iconunder18carbon:

The tread is there... it's just... invisible :paranoid: Too much dorifto :slow:

Thanks for the neat comment

Love your style, as always. I think the left headlight looks abit flat/two dimensional...That or it looks like it's completely missing the cover part. :hmm: Overall very nice though.

(Psst, I think you should do an old beater Honda or Toyota next. ;) )

Probably missing the cover

I'm working on an ASC Viper (yep, the one that looks like a skunk)... :bucktooth: What kind of old beater you have in mind?

Well, I went looking for pictures of old beaters, and I came back with rally cars. :P
But everybody loves a good rally car!
[link]
[link] (Actually, I really doubt that's a rally car, the suspension is waaay too low. :hmm: )
[link] (Old beater!...Old rally beater. XD)
[link] (Fun angle maybe?)
(Do you work from random images? Back in the day, I did. :P )

If I had the time/effort to do it, I'd probably do one of those. And now I feel like I should be being productive. XD

You should be! xD

All those rally car piccies reminded me of one of my favourites... Lancia 037 :bucktootk: High res pics of it are hard to find though :hmm: Can't seem to get good ones of the Audi Quattro too ;___; and the old Ford GT40 :crying: and Porsche 917...

Oh, and it's easier to find stuff if you go a regular google text search for what you want, then click around the pages.

Audi Quattro? I'm sure I've seen ATLEAST one high res pic of that. :O You mean one of these? (That's not the one, but that car, right?)

*whistles* I wouldn't mind one of these. If I ever drove, anyway. XD

I like the Z4, but the coupe is a bit yucky imo :hmm:

And thanks for the Google tip! XD *crowns you offical tip lady* :O

That...front...spoiler? Looks reaaaaally wierd. I saw some of those too though. Ages ago. XD

Well, if you do a text search, you tend to get more 'popular' websites, and more popular websites are usually like that because they've got good stuff on them. If all else fails, throw 'wallpaper' in and select large images, and something should come up.

*ads tip queen crown to the stash under the bed* :O
